Purpose and Philosophy
Mt. Zion Lutheran School is a Lutheran Christian school for children ages
one
through
second grade. The Early Learning Center serves
children beginning with toddlers through Kindergarten. The Elementary
School offers a quality Christian educational program for children
in grades one and two.
Mt. Zion Lutheran School is a ministry owned and operated by Mt. Zion Lutheran Church and serves members of the congregation and the community. The church supports this ministry for Christian nurture and outreach with the message of God’s love in Jesus Christ, and at the same time provides a strong age-appropriate academic curriculum and a wholesome and safe learning environment. We seek to develop a strong partnership with parents by offering opportunities for parent participation in school activities and having an open communication between home and school.
The purpose of Mt. Zion Lutheran School is accomplished when, in keeping with our stated mission and vision, the following objectives are established:
- To assist the student in acquiring sound knowledge and understanding of God’s Word.
- To equip students with positive attitudes, appropriate speech, self control, and respect for authority and for others.
- To develop an appreciation for God’s creation and an attitude of responsibility for the care and protection of the earth and its resources.
- To challenge each student to personal excellence through quality curricula, extra curricular activities, and a capable Christian staff.
- To instill in students a desire to be lifelong learners.
- To instill a respect for all people and provide opportunities for service and interaction.
- To support the family by promoting mutual love, respect, and honor.
- To offer children the opportunity to experience a full Christian life on earth and be assured of eternal life in heaven.
- To help children recognize themselves as persons of worth made by God in His image.
